Interesting to note that two current summer movies qualify as cinematic ourobori:
- The Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, based on the Disney World theme park ride, has been so successful that the original ride has since been modified to include characters from the movies. (There’s even a rumor that Disney is planning to create a new, second POTC ride based solely on the movies.)
- Michael Bay’s Transformers movie, based on the Hasbro toys from the 1980s, has occasioned a new line of Transformers toys from Hasbro that correspond with the new robot designs from the movie.
Am I missing any? (Novelizations don’t count.)
The ouroboros being the ancient emblem depicting a serpent devouring its own tail.
